YZi Labs, the investment firm formerly known as Binance Labs and backed by former Binance CEO Changpeng "CZ" Zhao, has entered the biotech sector with a strategic investment in Renewal Bio. The regenerative medicine startup specializes in using developmental biology to create DNA-identical human cells and tissues from patient-derived stem cells.

Renewal Bio's StemBloid platform aims to address the global organ shortage by reprogramming a patient's own cells to generate personalized tissues. This innovation could eliminate the need for immunosuppressive drugs, a common requirement after traditional transplants. The technology represents a significant leap toward on-demand organ generation, potentially saving millions of lives.

The move marks YZi Labs' first major diversification beyond crypto and fintech since its rebranding earlier in 2025. Analysts note the timing aligns with impending regulatory frameworks for advanced medical technologies.
